Job Role: Business Development Manager

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: £56,000 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients and develop strong relationships with new international partners.

  • Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with the company’s objectives for revenue growth, customer acquisition, and market expansion.

  • Ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of travel services to clients.

  • Identify new market opportunities within the corporate travel management sector.

  • Understand and discuss client requirements and recommend suitable travel services and packages.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across a broad range of travel services, including:

    • Flight reservations and ticketing

    • Hotel bookings

    • Holiday packages

    • Cruises

    • Travel insurance

    • Airport protocol and meet-and-greet services

    • Train reservations

    • Airport transfers

  • Promote and expand comprehensive travel packages by combining multiple services to deliver greater value to customers.

  • Negotiate contracts and manage commercial agreements with clients, suppliers, and partners to support sustainable business growth.

  • Prepare and present reports based on marketing strategies, business development activities, and sales performance.

  • Support the company’s expansion plans by identifying suitable markets, customer segments, partnerships, and sales channels, and contribute to the development of effective market-entry strategies.

  • Drive strategic initiatives to strengthen the company’s reputation, brand visibility, and market presence.

  • Monitor industry trends and market developments to inform business development strategies and maintain a competitive advantage.

  • Stay up to date with developments in the travel industry, including changing customer preferences, emerging destinations, new travel products, and other developments that may create commercial opportunities.

Key Skills and Experience Required

  • Proven experience in business development, preferably within the travel, tourism, hospitality, or related industries.

  • Demonstrable track record of generating new business and increasing revenue.

  • Experience in identifying, developing, and converting sales leads into new customers and long-term commercial accounts.

  • Strong knowledge of the travel and tourism industry, including flights, hotels, holiday packages, cruises, travel insurance, airport transfers, and related services.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, partners, and senior decision-makers.

  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills, with the ability to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.

  • Ability to identify new markets, customer segments, partnerships, and commercial opportunities to support the company’s expansion plans.

  • Strong analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

  • A relevant qualification in Business Management, Business Development, Sales, Marketing, Travel and Tourism, Hospitality, or a related field would be advantageous.
